Ever wonder why you bounce your leg, drum your fingers, or click your pen incessantly? According to biomechanist Katy Bowman, these spontaneous movements are your body’s way of signaling a need for movement. Embracing the fidget can boost blood flow, regulate blood sugar, and even reduce stress and anxiety.
• Change your position (and don’t worry too much about the “right posture”)
• Schedule “exercise snacks”
• Go for a five-minute walk (every half hour to be precise)
