If you’ve taken a drive along Florin Road in Sacramento lately, you’re in for a visual feast. The vibrant murals that line the streets are a sight to behold. Among them, one mural stands out to me: the captivating portrayal of five elderly women. It’s a beautiful homage to the rich tapestry of the local community.

Thanks to the Florin Road Community Beautification Project, generously backed by Clean California, this section of Florin Road—from Tamoshanter Way to Franklin Boulevard—is experiencing a remarkable revitalization. This collaborative effort brings together community partners and stakeholders with a shared vision: to combat waste, enhance aesthetics, and elevate public spaces while championing equity for underserved communities in the area. It’s a testament to the power of unity and the beauty of collective action.
