Curated by Nicoda Adams
At 22-years-old, Amanda Gorman became the youngest person to deliver a poem at a U.S. presidential inauguration, reciting her poem “The Hill We Climb” after Joe Biden and Kamala Harris were sworn in as president and vice president. Amanda’s work focuses on issues of oppression, feminism, race, and marginalization, as well as the African diaspora. She was also the first person ever to be named National Youth Poet Laureate in the United States.
