Growing up in Miami and San Francisco for most of my childhood Celia Cruz was just part of my life. Her music and captivating voice could be heard playing from neighbors’ radios, cars passing by, or on TV whenever she performed on Siempre En Domingo or Sabado Gigante. Simply put, she was and is one of our great heroes. I get goosebumps that our Queen is being honored with her own U.S. Quarter this year. Now to figure out how to get my hands on one. ¡Azúcar!
