Sacramento Youth Commission

Curated by Trao Thao

The Sacramento Youth Commission (SYC) is dedicated to advocating for the welfare and empowerment of Sacramento’s youth. Established in 1993, SYC advises the City Council and the public on youth policies, programs, and opportunities, with the aim of enhancing their quality of life. From organizing events focused on youth mental health to engaging in projects like Aggie Square development and Earth Day clean-ups, SYC actively participates in initiatives benefiting youth citywide.

Through advocacy efforts such as recommending funding for youth programs and supporting legislation for public safety and education, SYC ensures young voices are heard in shaping Sacramento’s future.
