Sacramento native CAKE performs benefit concert for congressional candidates

Sacramento’s own CAKE made a celebrated homecoming with a three-night, sold-out run, March 21-23, that brought the community together through music and local impact. The band—founded right here in Sacramento—used opening night to give back, donating proceeds to support KVMR and Sacramento’s public radio efforts.

The band also hosted a benefit concert supporting congressional candidates who share roots with them, having graduated from the same local high school as some of the band members. By blending music with purpose, CAKE continues to model how artists can uplift their communities, foster collaboration, and invest in local change.

More than just a hometown return, CAKE demonstrates a deep understanding of community, collaboration, and grassroots organizing. Their shows serve as a gathering point—connecting fans, local institutions, and civic efforts in a shared space that highlights the power of community and collective action.
