Bad Bunny’s Debí Tirar Más Fotos is more than just an album—it’s a statement. Blending historically marginalized genres, he highlights the risks of Puerto Rican culture disappearing due to forced migration and gentrification. As Spotify’s Maykol Sanchez says, “From the moment you press play, it’s clear that Bad Bunny is sending a message.”
Look out you rock and rollers! David Bowie, musical superstar and all-around iconic legend, once so brilliantly sang “Ch-Ch-Ch-Ch-Changes! Turn and face the strange.” The song hints to the power of embracing the strange changes that life throws at us. So far, 2025 is all about change.
This nostalgic song, I’m Just a Bill, was a part of a very popular Saturday morning educational cartoon series for children in the 1970’s titled Schoolhouse Rock.
On Sunday in Wheatland, California I once again had the honor of seeing one of my all-time favorite bands- Red Hot Chili Peppers. DUDE! They are incredible live, not to mention, timeless and beautiful.
Fitting nicely into this week’s Too Dope Theme: “Rock & Roll” (sometimes spelled Rock ‘n’ Roll) is a song by the Velvet Underground, originally appearing on their 1970 album Loaded.
Recently, life’s been hectic with work and personal duties. Surprisingly, no song has been on repeat in my mind. Amidst this, instrumental music has been my soothing constant.
