Tony Stark or Peter Parker? Sacramento Students Learn How to Vote Through Mock Election

Each year Sacramento County Voter Registration and Elections works with local high schools to host mock elections where students can engage in a version of the election process. Their creative mock election approach, using Marvel characters as candidates, introduces 16-18-year-old students to the election process and prepares them to vote once they are of legal age and registered.

These mock elections cover local election positions and measures that will be on the November ballot. Each election year, Sacramento County hosts a dozen or so mock elections, and this year has pre-registered approximately 5,300 eligible students to vote!
